God is Our Refuge and Strength.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.”
Psalms 46 NIV

Pictured above: Devastation from the massive 7.7 magnitude earthquake that leveled much of Mandalay (2nd largest city in Myanmar) and killed and injured thousands. Judah and his team of relief workers have traveled to the area several times since the initial earthquake on March 27th. Here is some of what he recently reported:
“We learned that some villages got a lot of help because they are on the news and people hear and come and help. But some villages are not on the news because they are far from the main roads, and the reporters do not go, and those villages get nothing. Therefore we survey with the local preachers and try to go and help those villages that are not in the news but were hit by the earthquake badly.
Mandalay is the hottest area in Myanmar and the heat is very bad (100+). But it is our joy to help them. Travel from Yangon to Mandalay takes twice as long now (12 hours) and roads are dangerous and badly damaged.
Please pray for our team that we can serve the people and pray for the victims. Small earthquakes have come almost every day. People are scared to live inside homes and many have no homes to live in at all.
The need is very very big. They need food, water, shelter, medicine and etc. Many sleep on the roads with tents. No jobs, no food, no young men to help (due to conscription).
Please pray for their needs of the victims. They need to hear the gospel. Jesus is their only hope. Their idols do nothing.
We shared the gospel to the victims and they would like to hear a lot. God opens the door for the gospel. Praise the Lord! “

Summey Ferguson raised support for our earthquake disaster relief efforts by selling her homemade lollipops to families within their homeschool community. Thank you Summey! You are an inspiration to all of us and we are so proud of you!
